Walking Warriors NEED YOUR HELP!!

 Walking Warriors

NEED YOUR HELP!

We need to raise at least £3000 for Macmillan cancer support, it has been inspired by a great people, grandparents, friends and close family members. We are putting our bodies through hell to get fit for this 24 hr event and we are determined to hit our goals.

The Salisbury Journal are kindly supporting us, local businesses are now getting behind us, so now i'm asking for YOU guys to stand up and support us, any help raising the money would be appreciated or even sharing some ideas on how to raise the money on our facebook page would be great.

Our Team Story

Cancer is a disease that affects a great proportion of the population of the United Kingdom . Each one of us is certain to know someone who has suffered from one form of cancer, and there are many different types. It is an ever present factor in the lives of millions of people, and a disease that brings heartbreak and anguish to the families of those, young and old, who suffer from and succumb to cancer day after day.

Our aim is to climb the three mountains in under 24hrs with a team who have passion and determination, we want to walk up those mountains with our heads held high and be proud to walk in memory of those who have been affected by cancer.

The team and i will be training hard, wearing T-Shirts with pictures of the people who have been affected by cancer.. We have our own blog and facebook page in which we will be updating with pictures and videos of our training as well as having a page dedicated to each and everyone's personal reason for doing this.

Sky Ride in Christchurch

British Cycling and Sky’s ambition is to inspire the nation to become fans of cycling. Together they are aiming to get millions more people on their bikes and excited about cycling as a sport.

A ground breaking partnership, Sky is supporting British Cycling at every level from the grassroots through to the elite. With the GB Cycling Team and Team Sky, we're backing new cycling talent and creating heroes for people to follow and to inspire the next generation of cyclists.

And they have created Sky Ride, a national campaign to help people – whatever their age or ability – to get on their bikes and have fun.

On the 5th of August we did a sky ride in Christchurch as part of our training we did a 27 mile round trip and what can i say we were extremely difficult for most us

Chris Matthews coming of his bike after the chain on his bike snapped

David Jordan picking up a puncture

After conquering all the hills, the team members flying off there bikes and punctures occurred what i can say is that we wouldn't have done it without the support of the guys in the picture.

THANK YOU

Ian hoddy hits out at the country roads with Chris Brown

Ian Hoddy and Chris Brown hit country roads

Ian is a Aircraft Engineer in the Royal Air Force and is currently based at RAF Marham in Norfolk, he has been in the RAF for 7 years and he has many hobbies mainly fishing and cycling.

In the last 7 years that he has been in the Air Forces he has raised and given to many local and big named charities.

Both myself and Ian took up the Three Peaks Challenge back in 2001 and finished it under the 24 hrs,

So when i heard he was coming down from Norfolk i jumped at the chance to go for a cycle with him so we decide to go on one which took us on a 17.7 mile track which covered Winterslow, Tytherly, Lockerly, Dean and out towards Grimstead and back to Winterslow, it was a great day. The sun was out in its full glory and views were outstanding. Ian was very inspirational and encouraging especially as my sister came along for the cycle as well.

You can take a look at the route that we took here

Grandparents, what do they mean to you?

 grandparents
My Grandparents mean the world to me so when I hear them being diagnosed with cancer it really hits home how much i care for them and that if anything happened to them i would be lost

  1. Their always there for you when you need someone to talk to
  2. They always tell you stories about the ‘Good Old Days
  3. They Always cheer you up when you are down
  4.  But where are YOU when they need YOU the most

If your grandparents mean a lot to you, like they do to me then please text
ICEE69 to 70070  to donate as little as £1,
this  money will go to Macmillan Cancer Support  or visit  my just giving page http://www.justgiving.com/TruthOnTheThreePeaks
